Sierra Colina Village is designed to be a single and multi-family residential neighborhood that will provide a mixture of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Certified and Energy Star rated sustainable market-rate and deed-restricted moderate-income homes.  Sierra Colina Village is striving to become the first neighborhood in the Lake Tahoe Basin to have all its homes meet state of the art green sustainability criteria. 

At present, Sierra Colina is proceeding through the regulatory review process governed by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA).  At the request of Sierra Colina, the TRPA has contracted with an environmental firm, EDAW, Inc., to conduct a comprehensive Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Sierra Colina Village project. The period for public comment on the Draft EIS concluded on October 13, 2008.  The Final EIS is anticipated in 2009.
